Joe Turpin represented The Paxton Companies at the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries and Museums Conference last month in Bernalillo, New Mexico.
From June 10-13, ATALM sponsored an International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums at the Santa Ana Pueblo-owned Hyatt Regency Tamaya in Bernalillo, New Mexico. The event was at capacity, with attendees from three continents.
The conference included sessions intended to educate and promote tribally-controlled archives, libraries and museums through both technical training and leadership development. The conference and sessions help “ensure that cultural resources are protected and that indigenous philosophies and values are reflected in an appropriate and authentic manner.”
