Our People

Paxton currently employs one of the largest and most seasoned teams in our market. We have built our staff and our success by choosing the right people, giving them the most powerful tools and allowing them the freedom to make decisions.

 

Our people make us the most qualified and service oriented organization in the industry.  On-going training programs not only encompass industry sponsored events like GSA, DOS and Atlas but also as members of FIDI, Paxton has access to the only international training program developed by movers for movers.

 

The importance of reaching our customer globally is exemplified by our staffing of multi lingual employees.  We cover over 28 languages from Europe, Asia, South America and Africa to ensure the very best in customer service.  Having ‘hung our shingle’ generations ago, Paxton has distinguished themselves with Military Veterans, second and third generation employees,  athletes, and so many others that you would welcome into your own home.


Paxton maintains a network of experts and equipment to accommodate every aspect of the process.  Our laborers are in house and certified according to our ISO 9001 certification.  Along with mentoring, continual training and meetings, we have found the keys to success.  Our Customer Service staff is kept abreast of industry changes and is afforded extended education so that we may maintain high quality levels that our customers have come to expect.

Our Leadership

Frederick D. Paxton II, President/CEO

Fred is highly respected and well known across the moving industry. His expertise has been a driving force behind the company’s growth in household goods and logistics since he joined The Paxton Companies in 1966. In 1980, he established the international operations department and, in 1993, helped develop Corporate Relocation Services®, which provided a full range of relocation management services to our corporate clients.

 

Fred is a long-time elected member of the Atlas Van Lines Board of Directors, the nation’s second-largest van line, and a member of the Atlas World Group Executive Committee.

William D. Paxton,
Chief Operating Officer

Bill began his career with the Paxton Companies as a sophomore at Langley High School; his first job was as a part-time Box Builder. Bill worked his way through a variety of positions including Packer, Crew Leader and Certified Driver throughout college and joined the company full-time in 1992, focusing on International Development. His early years at Paxton were designed to learn the family business by working through each department to see operations from all angles. Over the next decade, Bill served as Director of Business Development, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, and Vice President of Operations for Paxton’s North Carolina branch. In 2003, Bill moved back to Virginia to serve as Vice President of Move Management at our Global headquarters in Washington, D.C. and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer in 2007.

 

Bill is highly involved in the relocation industry and is regularly found on Capitol Hill lobbying for the industry. He has sat on the FIDI USA Board of Directors since 2017, was elected President of the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA), is a long-term member of the Atlas Advisory Group, and founding member of the Atlas Van Lines Best Practices Council.

Freddy is an award winning, thought leader known for his passion for the industry and dedication to mentoring others. His career at the Paxton Companies began in the mid-80’s where he worked part time during summers packing and loading local vehicles, achieving top local driver status in 1987. This helped him learn the business from the very start of the process. Since that time, Freddy has traveled to nearly 100 countries working with our international team, representing the company and searching for the best agents and logistics solutions available throughout the globe. Freddy has trained hundreds of students in the Essentials of International Moving through his role as FIDI Academy Trainer.

Freddy has held many designations including US Advisory Committee for Transportation Member, Past President of FIDI, Trustee for the Worldwide ERC (WERC) Foundation, Board Member for the Employee Relocation Council (ERC), and Atlas Advisory Group Member to Atlas World Group’s Board of Directors. Freddy graduated from St. Lawrence University and completed his post-graduate work at George Mason University, where he received his MBA. He holds a Real Estate license in Virginia and has earned the Employee Relocation Council's (ERC) Certified Relocation Professional (CRP).
